Welcome to HotDrop. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of HotDrop's website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read these Terms carefully before using our Service.
Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using HotDrop, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other means. Your continued use of HotDrop after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Description of Service
HotDrop is a professional networking platform designed for content creators and their teams. The Service provides:
- Social networking features for verified creators
- Team collaboration tools including Circles, chat, and file sharing
- Content sharing through feeds, stories (Stacks), and live streaming integration
- Community features for connecting creators, moderators, editors, managers, and supporters
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use HotDrop. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age.
If you are between 13 and 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use HotDrop with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.
HotDrop is a verified creator community. Access may require:
- An invitation from an existing HotDrop member, or
- Approval of an access application reviewed by our team
We reserve the right to deny access to anyone for any reason.
User Accounts
To use certain features of HotDrop, you must create an account. When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Maintain the security of your password and account
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
You may not use another person's account without permission. You may not sell, transfer, or assign your account to anyone else.
OAuth Verification
HotDrop uses OAuth authentication with platforms including YouTube and Twitch to verify creator status. By connecting your accounts:
- You authorize HotDrop to access certain account information as described in our Privacy Policy
- You represent that you have the right to connect those accounts
- You understand this verification helps maintain community quality
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use HotDrop to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Infringe the intellectual property rights of others
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or incite violence against any individual or group
- Post content that is hateful, discriminatory, or promotes harm
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Spam or send unsolicited messages
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Use automated means to access the Service without permission
- Engage in any activity that could damage, disable, or impair the Service
We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.
Content Ownership
Your Content: You retain ownership of the content you create and share on HotDrop ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant HotDrop a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy, modify, distribute, and display your User Content in connection with operating and providing the Service.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to your User Content
- Your User Content does not infringe the rights of any third party
- Your User Content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws
HotDrop Content: The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by HotDrop and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Third-Party Services
HotDrop may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, services, or applications. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services. Your interactions with third-party services are governed by their respective terms and policies.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOTDROP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:
- Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your content
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
- We may delete your User Content (though some information may be retained as required by law)
- Provisions of these Terms that should survive termination will survive
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, you agree that it shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
