Every member on HotDrop verifies who they are by signing in with the platform where they already work — YouTube or Twitch. That's the whole trick: no impersonation, no bots, no anonymous trolls. Here's exactly how it works and what we access.
You authorize HotDrop through YouTube's or Twitch's official sign-in — the same secure OAuth flow you've used elsewhere. We never see or store your password.
HotDrop reads your basic public channel info — your name, handle, and avatar — to build your verified profile. That's what powers real credits, real reputations, and a network you can trust.
Features like membership recognition badges in a creator's Circle only activate when that creator explicitly connects them — never during sign-in. You can disconnect any linked account at any time, and we delete the associated data.
HotDrop's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. HotDrop uses YouTube API Services; by connecting a YouTube account you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
